Name that Critter!
Anyone know what this is?
We regret that we didn't bring an insect guide when we came to PNG as there are some very interesting insects we haven't been able to identify. While fascinating, some of them are still creepy.
It's in the Earwig family. I look it up later and get back to you. They are harmless. And contrary to folk lore, they do not crawl into the human ear canal to lay eggs. OR DO THEY???

Could you give us some estimate of how big it is? Maybe Stacie could hold it in her hand to give us an idea of the size?

it looks like a skinny version of those bugs we called "sand-doggies" when we were kids.
